On our first ever visit to Grenada, we stayed at the Coyaba resort and had a wonderful week! From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. Check-in was quick & easy and included a welcome cocktail. We had an ocean view room which was spotlessly clean, well appointed and its balcony provided a beautiful view! A screen on our patio door was a nice touch and we made a lot of use of it, enjoying morning and nighttime views, the sound of the ocean and beautiful gentle breeze, without any concerns about insects or lizards. Gorgeous sunsets were in full view right from our room each evening before dinner! Being a smaller (80 guest rooms) resort, you don’t waste a lot of time finding your way around. The lobby, pool, restaurants and beach were a short walk from any point on the property. The grounds were immaculately kept and featured a wide variety of beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees, which included mango, almond and cashew. All of the employees at Coyaba were WONDERFUL and really made a good experience great! Without exception throughout the week we found all of the staff members to be welcoming, friendly, attentive and very helpful! Consistently exceptional service with a genuine smile! We were on the all-inclusive plan and enjoyed the food and beverages which came with it. The food was good and if you wish to have non-included premium items, such as a lobster dinner, you may order at extra cost. Grand Anse beach is simply outstanding! Over three kilometres long and perfect for walking! We walked the entire length every day and did a lot of swimming in the ocean too. There are plenty of shaded areas (both trees and palapas) on the beach at the boundary of the property and no shortage of lounge chairs. The swimming pool was clean, had plenty of umbrellas, lounge chairs and included a swim-up bar. Although there was some evening entertainment around dinnertime, it was of a variety that was not loud and concluded early. This was in keeping with the overall atmosphere, which exudes pure tranquillity! No “boom boom boom” music or yelling on loudspeakers there whatsoever and we loved that! If you’re looking for a loud party environment, this is not the place for you! If you are seeking a quiet peaceful experience as we were, enjoy! The average guest’s age was about that of ours, in their sixties. We took a bus into St. George’s for some shopping and sightseeing and felt very safe everywhere we walked there. There is also a shopping centre right across the road from the resort. We are very experienced travellers and although we don’t make a lot of repeat visits in order to experience more places, we have placed Coyaba on our “will return” list of favourites! Coyaba's slogan is "be enchanted". We were indeed!

If you like gardens, tons of palm trees and good guest service, this is the place for you. Coyaba is an oasis of tranquility on a beautiful sandy beach. There is no time lost here searching for lounge chairs. The attentive staff will happily find one for you and place it according to your wishes. This is the only place we've visited where folks don't "reserve" chairs by flinging towels on them at 6 a.m. The staff at the beach bar make the best drinks. The food is good, there is entertainment and if you like shopping, the Spiceland Mall is just across the street. Staying at the Coyaba was a stress free vacation in a heavenly environment. We heartily recommend this resort.

If you are looking for a mega chill out, this is it. Hotel opens out onto the great beach, with beach bar and trees for shade. Pool also has a swim up bar. The staff really make this hotel, with superb levels of service from all of them. Food was excellent. Small shopping centre across the other side of the road if you need anything. Umbrella bar nearby good for change of scene/vibe. Rooms a bit dated but I don't care, all clean. Lively cricket match up the street on the Friday night was good fun to watch. Easy bus ride to St. George's for a wander about. Transfer to airport was simple, about 15 minutes. We don't usually go back to same place, but I would definitely go back here for longer.
